From TreS - Hello World!
Typically used in a coding perspective, and as I, the person responsible for this website and blog am apparently a computer science major, I’ve decided the best way to start out our blogs is a traditional hello world (to the geeks reading this, hehe, I’ve got your back)! So yeah, hello world lol!
Since our memory will eventually fade as we grow older, and since we want to have a space to share the most memorable things that happen on our trips with ourselves before the world, we’ve decided to publish one-ish blog post per week/trip. Of course we will also try to cover bits and pieces of our older trips, and give Kudos to the amazing people we’ve met along the way, but yeah, the idea is to have a space where we as TreS can look back at and remember.
A space to remind us of what we do, why we do it, and to keep us going.
A space for our TreS family.
A space that feels like home.
So to whoever is reading this, welcome to our mind farts. We hope you enjoy your reads.
Now on to the good stuff!
We’ve been up and running for around two and a half years now, and in this time we have met the most inspiring, kind, and loveable people. We’re talking 40+ nationalities in the span of 40 trips, to 10 different destinations. It has been such a privilege to be able to get people from all around together, connect, feel, experience, and go back home with a new family. We even sometimes adopt random people along the way and add them to our tiny family.. the more the merrier!
As great of a privilege as it is, it does not of course come without its challenges. We’re talking random snow storms in Iceland with road closures and getting stranded, getting stuck in gusts of winds that almost blow you off mountains in Norway, a random sleet storm that hits you while you’re hiking in the Dolomites… and much more (and no, it’s not bad planning… when you’re that far up North/that high up a mountain, weather apps aren’t accurate and you get what you get.. in other words.. we don’t control the weather Susan!)
So yeah, lots of stories to come, if and only if we can convince my ADHD brain to stick to a schedule and try to post once a week (or a month, who knows!) no clue how it’s gonna go from here.. stay tuned haha.
Welcome to our first blog post/newsletter/whatever this turns out to be!
